the swing

we went to lynchburg the other day and one of our fav things to do is to go to the old city cemetery .... it is where the butterfuly garden is ... along with the swing, which is hung from a branch about 40 foot up.

its located here...

the girls were having a blast and it was so fun to watch

it is such a free feeling to swing ...

learning how to work things out on your own ...

and doing it

ahhhh ..... success!

may we all remember that feeling in our belly when we reach the peak

peace my friends ~

airboating on the delta

when we were in alabama we took an airboat tour.. our captain was great !

(as always click any picture to see the larger size )

and when he took off ...... oh my my !!!

we saw aligator dens ..... and footprints!

we got to hold an aligator eggshell .... it was rather rubbery!

... and we got to see / hold a gastrolith ( a rock ) that aligators eat with their meal to help with digestion!

did you know aligators have built in heaters ? ... they do
they are called scuts ( pronounced scoots )

they are underneath the skin and are what make the ridges we see on the gators

and when the gators sun themselves... the little pitholes on the scuts are like heat pockets and help keep the gator warm when he is underwater

the delta is so beautiful ..

it is only 2 to 3 foot deep anywhere in it...

and wowza !! .... this was such a great feeling, the reflections made you feel you were somewhere in between

great day for sure .....
